Star Parker: Teachers’ Unions Control Over Public Schools Must be Contained
October 25, 2022
CURE Founder and President Star Parker, contributing a segment for Straight Arrow News, highlights the drastic freefall in students’ test scores and educational achievement in the last two years. Two decades of progress wiped out. It wasn’t just due to the uncontrollable nature of the COVID pandemic, however. Teachers’ unions have a monopoly of control over public schools, a control that became even more evident through the pandemic. The economic and political interests of teachers’ unions all too often superseded the interests of students and their families.
Parker points to the data and events showing how the teachers’ unions used that power to keep schools closed, the devastating impact it had on our nation’s students, and the continued contributions the teachers’ unions give to their best friend in power – the Democratic party.
